I say it as I see it :) Pity about the shite op shops, I just found the sweetest leather jacket on the infamous K Road - op shop heaven. Put that on your list the next time you decide to visit another small town (Auckland) this far downunder.

Weeeell young grasshoppa, I am glad you asked. Basically Techno is a sub genre of electronic music (using electronic devices to make music),It doesn't usually contain vocals. It's mostly rave music and is very very repetitive and heavy. A few sub-genres of techno would be, acid, hardcore, thriller etc.. Electronica: Uses synthesizers and machines for music. It contains many sub genres such as ambient, techno etc.. Trance: Some people characterize it as hardcore, a type of club music usually played between 130 -160 BPMs. Throughout these songs the music usually reaches climax multiple times.(think Dj Tiesto, Ferry Corsten) It got it's name for putting people into a trance like state.
That's a basic breakdown of electronic music lol, it's a bit confusing at first xD

Daft punk falls under the genre of House music. House music, falling under the electronica category is basically Electronic Dance Music (EDM) which makes you want to sway around to the rhythm. It follows a 4/4 structure and usually contains a heavy bass line. :)
